In a solemn ceremony, the mortal remains of Major M Pritam Singh were received at Imphal Airport on Friday. The distinguished officer’s body was greeted by senior military officials, marking a poignant moment of reverence and remembrance.
In accordance with military traditions, all present paid their respects with floral tributes at the airport before the journey continued to Major Singh’s residence in Luker, Imphal West district of Manipur. The somber procession proceeded with dignity, embodying the honor and respect befitting an officer of Major Singh’s stature.
The cremation ceremony, conducted with full military honors, took place later in the day, around 4 pm. Senior military officials, representatives of the civil administration, and grieving family members gathered to bid farewell to Major Singh, honoring his service and sacrifice.
Major M Pritam Singh, who departed this world on April 3, 2024, while serving in an Operational Area, succumbed to climatic hazards. His passing has left a profound void in the hearts of his colleagues and loved ones.
Commissioned into the Indian Army on December 9, 2017, Major Pritam ‘s journey was marked by dedication and excellence. Having undergone rigorous training at the Army Cadet College and the Indian Military Academy, Dehradun, he embodied the values of service and commitment.
Beyond his military duties, Major Singh was known for his passion for sports and garnered immense respect and admiration from all ranks within his battalion. His legacy as an exemplary officer and a beloved comrade will endure in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him.
