Imphal, March 7:
The Department of Municipal Administration, Housing & Urban Development (MAHUD) has identified 20 Garbage Vulnerable Points (GVPs) across Imphal City, which will be cleaned, reclaimed, and beautified with minimal expenditure. Officials stated that the initiative aims to improve sanitation and enhance the city’s aesthetics through systematic restoration efforts.
As part of the plan, a cleanliness drive will be conducted every Saturday until all identified sites are restored. Authorities emphasized the importance of sustained efforts to maintain hygiene and prevent waste accumulation in these areas.
According to official sources, the next phase of the initiative will take place at New Checkon Traffic Point, where Team IMC & MAHUD will carry out a cleanup operation. The department has urged citizens to cooperate and contribute towards maintaining a cleaner and healthier urban environment.
Officials expressed confidence that the initiative would transform public spaces while fostering a sense of civic responsibility among residents. The program is expected to continue in a phased manner, ensuring that all GVPs receive the necessary attention and restoration efforts in due course.
