All Kongba Road United Club’s Organisation (AKRUCO), a joint committee of 26 local clubs located in Imphal East has appealed the COCOMI to lift the boycott called against the government and instead urged to initiate dialogue with the government functionaries to find solution on how to end the narco-terrorist and also to resolve the ongoing conflict.
“COCOMI may regret if they fail to take the opportunity of talking with the government authority and discuss about the ongoing conflict to make sure that such conflict does not occur in future”, a statement of the AKRUCO issued by its convenor Lenin Huidrom said. He added that the COCOMI being the apex body of the Civil Society Organisations of Manipur should hold talk with the government and discuss how to protect the indigenous people of the region from the hand of the narco-terrorists.
On the other hand, the AKRUCO said that the organisation will not celebrate Ningol Chakouba and appealed to all living under the jurisdiction of the joint committee of 26 local club to stop celebrating the Ningol Chakouba as a mark of respect to those who have sacrificed during the conflict. The AKRUCO also said that many have been injured and left homeless and as a mark of respect to all the victims of the violence, the AKRUCO will stop all sort of entertainment programme for this year in the jurisdiction of AKRUCO.
