With the aim to address the shortage of blood supply in the state, particularly in response to the rising cases of dengue in Manipur the High Court of Manipur, in collaboration with the High Court Bar Association and Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) organized a blood donation drive at RIMS Imphal today.
The inaugural blood donation drive was conducted in the presence of Justice A. Guneshwar Sharma, Justice Golmei Gaiphulshillu Kabui, Kh. Samarjit Singh, Deputy Solicitor General for the High Court of Manipur, Prof. N. Sanjib Singh, Medical Superintendent, RIMS Hospital, Imphal, and Yumnam Nirmolchand Singh, President of the High Court Bar Association.
“With the increasing number of dengue cases reported in Manipur, there has been a significant strain on the blood banks across the state. In light of this challenging situation, the High Court of Manipur, along with the High Court Bar Association has taken a proactive step to raise awareness about blood donation and combat the shortage of blood supply”, said a donor.
The blood donation drive witnessed the active participation of the High Court staff, as well as volunteers from the High Court Bar Association. These individuals selflessly donated their blood to raise awareness about the urgent need for blood and to support the ongoing efforts to combat the dengue crisis.
The High Court of Manipur, in its continuous efforts to serve the community, recently organized first blood donation camp at JNIMS College on 21 Oct 2023. The event was graced in the august presence of Hon’ble Justice A. Bimol Singh Justice A. Guneshwar Sharma, and Justice Golmei Gaiphulshillu Kabui. The High Court Judges, along with senior advocates and judicial officers, came forward and selflessly donated blood during the camp. Their participation showcased their commitment to the well-being of society and their dedication to saving lives. Justice A. Guneshwar Sharma, Judge of High Court of Manipur expressed his gratitude towards the invaluable contribution made by blood donors in addressing this critical situation.
