As part of the observance of the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, also known as the Iron Man of India, a Unity March was organised today at Langmeidong Higher Secondary School. The event was held under the supervision of Mera Yuva Bharat, Kakching, in collaboration with the Zonal Education Office, Kakching.
Addressing the gathering, Zonal Education Officer of Kakching, Mayanglambam Rakhesh, said the observance aimed to highlight the contributions of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel in building a strong and unified India after Independence. He noted that the rally sought to promote the value of unity among the younger generations.
Rakhesh stated that Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel played a crucial role in uniting the states following India’s freedom from British rule. He added that it was important for future generations to understand their responsibilities and draw inspiration from Patel’s dedication to strengthen both India and Manipur.
The programme was attended by Ripupyari Hajarimayum, Principal of Langmeidong Higher Secondary School, along with teachers, staff of the ZEO Kakching, and students of the school.
As part of the event, an essay competition on Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel was also conducted.
