The residents of Lamdeng Khunou Mamang Leikai, Lamsang, have taken a stand against the government’s neglect in repairing crucial roads, leading to significant disruptions in the Luwang Ee Thong areas. The ongoing construction of a new bridge has exacerbated the situation, with numerous accidents reported along a 200-meter stretch.
Compounding the issue is the deteriorating state of the old bridge currently in use, contributing to safety concerns and traffic hazards. The neglected roads have become a breeding ground for dust, posing respiratory challenges for the local population.
The adverse impact extends beyond mere inconvenience, especially during the rainy season when untreated roads and the old Luwang E Thong bridge expose iron spokes, posing additional risks. Winter brings its own set of challenges, with dust and mist creating hazardous conditions for commuters.
In Lamsang Bazar areas, the alternative route intended for the under-construction bridge has become another casualty of government negligence, further inconveniencing residents. Despite repeated appeals for road repairs, government authorities have failed to take action, exacerbating the troubles faced by the community.
Responsibility for the bridge’s construction lies with the Public Works Department, with Hindustan Construction Company Limited managing the construction process. With frustration mounting, there are indications that public protests against government negligence may soon ensue.
