Imphal, May 3: Demanding that the administration provide information about the vehicle and identity of the driver involved in a hit and run case on May 1 that killed a local youth, local residents today blocked Kumbi road at Hougrampat which falls under Thanga Assembly constituency.
The 32-year-old man killed in the road mishap on the Moirang-Kumbi road was Seram Basanta, son of Momon. Local organizations had served a 24-hour deadline for arresting the errant driver after a sit in protest held at Moirangkhunou Hougrampat. A JAC against the killing of Seram Basanta was also subsequently formed.
Though Keibul police had taken the body for post mortem examinations, bereaved family members, relatives and friends have threatened that the body will not be claimed unless their demands are satisfied.
