Imphal, Jan 15:

Kuki militants allegedly launched an attack using a drone to drop two bombs near the 5 Manipur Rifles (MR) camp under Lamsang police station in Imphal West district on Tuesday night.
According to reports, the drone, equipped with explosives, dropped the bombs in quick succession near the security post at around 9:30 pm yesterday. One bomb exploded near the bunker of the camp, while another detonated at Langeibung Bridge, close to the security post, at around 9:28 pm of the same evening.
No casualties were reported in the incident. Upon receiving the alert, state forces, including personnel from Imphal West district police and Lamsang police station, rushed to the scene. However, the drone fled the area before it could be intercepted.
As part of the emergency response, a team of Manipur police experts visited the site. They recovered bomb fragments, shrapnel, and hanging mechanism cells from the area. These items have been taken into police custody for further investigation. Authorities have registered a case regarding the incident.
