Vendor ladies of Kongba Keithel today block road and staged a sit-in-protest demanding arrangement of a temporary market shed in and around the market area. The Kongba Keithel shed was damaged during the recent 6.8 magnitude earthquake of January 4. A vendor lady, while speaking to media persons said that some of the government officials had inspected the damage of the market shed but never taken up any measures for construction of a new market shed. She said while the market shed is being repaired government should arrange an alternative market shed for the vendor ladies who depend their livelihood on the Keithel. The agitators threaten various form of agitation if the government fails to make temporary arrangement for the vendor ladies.
