Koireng-led United National Liberation Front (UNLF) commemorated Athoubasing Ningsing Numit. This commemoration has been observed annually since May 18, 2018. On the occasion of the 7th observance of Athoubasing Ningsing Numit, the statement released by party’s secretary of Publicity, Central Committee, UNLF, it declares that “despite the challenges posed by the proxy war, all branches of the party, including its base camp, Part CHQ, MPA’s GHQ, External Affairs Dept HQ, and all departmental HQs, as well as units of the party in Manipur and abroad, participated in the event.”
The statement added, “The commemoration rituals included raising the flag at half-mast, fasting from 5 AM to 5 PM, and offering floral tributes to those who have sacrificed their lives. A two-minute silence was observed to honour and respect the fallen.”
During this occasion, Koireng led UNLF central committee’s statement has emphasized the importance of remembering the sacrifice made by brave men and women. They urged party members to draw inspiration from these sacrifices and move forward. The statement highlights that only by firmly believing in this principle and striving to progress can the event hold true meaning.
