Imphal May 2: The Kuki National Organisation (KNO) on Thursday submitted a complain letter to the Chief Minister of Manipur against the purposed closure of Kuki National Liberation Front (KNLF/KNO) designated camp at Simol, Khengjoi sub-division Chandel district, Manipur.
According to the press release issue by Th. Stephen, Secretary, Information and Publicity, KNO stated that the tripartite agreement on suspension of operation signed on September 9th, 2013 at Banquet hall, 1st MR, Imphal in the present of Chief Minister O. Ibobi Singh, that KNLF which is a constituent arm wing of KNO requested for the establishment and construction of its designated camp at Simol village in Chandel which was accepted and approved by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of Manipur, that, on a condition that the camp shall be constructed by the group itself without any financial liability of the centre and state governments.
Accordingly KNLF/KNO camp was established and constructed at the designated place within Khengjoi sub-division of Chandel district, Manipur with a support from local public and at the same time the cadres occupied the camp since May 9th, 2014 till date, added the press release.
However, surprisingly an outpost commander of Molcham Army camp belonging to the Sixth Dogra under 26th Sector made his apparition to the KNLF/KNO camp and compelled the cadres to leave the camp with immediate effect for the reason best known to him, said the press release.
The press release further said that KNO will not allow the cadres of its constituent arm wing KNLF to leave their camp till a trilateral amicable solution regarding the matter is made.
KNO also urge the chief miniter O. Ibobi Singh to intervene regarding the matter and to cancel the possible proposal shifting/closure of KNLF camp in the interest of cadres in particular and the public in general.
