The Kangleipak Communist Party (PWG) MC Unification) has extended greetings to the people of Manipur on the occasion of Ningol Chakkouba, while expressing deep concern over the continuing displacement and hardship faced by families affected by the May 2023 violence.
In its press release issued by spokesperson Chingkheinganba, the outfit conveyed wishes for peace and unity among the people, describing Ningol Chakkouba as a festival that strengthens family and community bonds. It, however, noted that this year’s celebration comes at a time when many Meitei families remain separated and continue to live in relief camps.
The statement said the suffering of internally displaced persons must not be forgotten and called for concerted efforts to ensure their safe return and rehabilitation. It condemned what it termed “narco-terrorist activities” and the conditions that led to mass displacement, urging collective resolve to restore normalcy and justice in Manipur.
The group reiterated its commitment to continue working for the welfare and protection of those affected, asserting that unity and mutual understanding among the people are essential for peace and stability in the state.
