KCP (PWG) MC Unification accuses RIMS Director of malpractices

The armed group Kangleipak Communist Party (PWG), MC Unification has leveled serious allegations against RIMS Director Dr. G. Sunilkumar, claiming that the premier medical institute is being marred by widespread corruption and irregularities.
In a statement issued by its PRO, Chingkheinganba, the outfit alleged that the Director, in collusion with officials of the purchase section, has been deducting 10 to 20 percent during procurement of medical equipment, thereby compromising their quality. It further alleged that transfers of employees within RIMS are carried out on payment of bribes ranging from Rs. 5,000 to Rs. 10,000.
The group also claimed that OPD tickets for the Gynaecology Department, officially priced at Rs. 10, are being sold at inflated rates of Rs. 200–300 by certain staff members. Similarly, CT scans are allegedly conducted through direct cash payments of Rs. 500 to technicians instead of proper billing at the counter.
The statement also accused the Director’s wife, Adhikari Mayum Manjubala, of making appointments on an outsourced basis without any public notification. It alleged that the recruitment process has been concealed and demanded that the details of such appointments be made public.
According to the outfit, the purchase section of RIMS is being managed by corrupt officials to facilitate illegal commission collection. It warned that the section should be re-staffed with sincere and qualified personnel. The group further alleged that several employees recruited during the COVID-19 pandemic are now being asked to pay between Rs. 10–20 lakhs to continue their services.
The statement also accused the Director of treating RIMS as a “gold mine” by awarding supply contracts to his brother-in-law for personal profit. Claiming to have evidence of these alleged malpractices, the outfit demanded the removal of all “corrupt officials” in the purchase section within three days, warning that the Director and his wife would be held responsible for any untoward incidents if their demands were ignored.
