The Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP) has condoled the death of one of its cadres, Comrade Khundrakpam Nongthang alias Ranjit (MFL Army No. 723), who died of illness on July 31 while serving at one of the outfit’s frontline camps.
In a statement issued by its Media Coordinator, A. Luwangba, the outfit said the deceased had been deployed at a frontline military camp engaged in operations against what it described as “enemy forces” and succumbed to illness despite efforts to save his life.
The statement identified the deceased as the son of Khundrakpam Ingo and Khundrakpam Ongbi Landhoni Leima of Gwaltabi. It further claimed that his family is currently staying at a relief camp in Nongada after being displaced by the ongoing ethnic conflict, which the outfit described as a “proxy war” allegedly waged against the Meitei community.
According to the KCP, Nongthang joined the organisation on November 10, 2024, and completed Basic Military Training under its armed wing, Miyamgi Finaang Lanmi (MFL), on January 20, 2025. Thereafter, he was deployed to a frontline camp, where the outfit claimed he participated in operations against what it termed “Kuki narco-terrorists.”
The KCP and the MFL paid what they described as revolutionary honours to the deceased and extended condolences to his bereaved family. The outfit said the commitment, courage and sacrifices of the late cadre would remain an enduring source of inspiration for the organisation.
