Imphal, Jan 3:
The proscribed Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP) has issued a statement clarifying its non-involvement in the recent bomb threat and intimidation targeting the Joint Action Committee (JAC) formed over the disappearance of Kamalbabu.
S. Mangal, Secretary-in-charge of Information and Publicity for KCP, stated that neither the KCP nor its military wing, Miyamgi Fingang Lanmi (MFL), was responsible for the placement of the bomb or the threatening letter sent to the JAC.
According to the KCP, Kamalbabu, a resident of Loitang Khunou in Imphal West, is believed to be a victim of a proxy war involving narco-terrorist Kuki groups allegedly operating under the guise of Indian policies. Kamalbabu was last seen on November 25 within the Garrison of the 57 Mountain Division at Leimakhong. The statement alleges that Kamalbabu was taken inside the garrison and has been missing since then. The Indian Army, it claims, has not provided any clarification regarding his disappearance.
The KCP’s statement also highlighted that the threatening letter warned the JAC formed for Kamalbabu to reorganize into a new committee, excluding contractors and builders.
