The Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP), through its armed wing, Miyamgi Fingang Lanmi (MFL), has claimed responsibility for the hand grenade attack at the residence of Raju Nong in Thangmeiband and a bomb blast at the residence of Yambem Victor at Kongpal Mutum Leikai under Porompat Police Station in Imphal East district on November 2.
In a press release, KCP media coordinator A. Luwangba stated that the attacks were carried out by the outfit’s Special Task Force (STF). The grenade attack at Raju Nong’s residence reportedly took place in the morning, while the explosion at Yambem Victor’s residence occurred at around 6:30 pm on the same day.
According to the statement, the outfit accused Raju Sharma, popularly known as Raju Nong, of making statements allegedly undermining the armed movement and repeatedly challenging its STF. The outfit claimed that he had been warned several times and that efforts had been made over the past three years to resolve the matter through discussions. However, it alleged that he had repeatedly disregarded its warnings.
Regarding Yambem Victor, the outfit alleged that he was involved in activities connected with the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) and claimed that he had been repeatedly warned over the telephone to stop his alleged wrongful activities.
The KCP also alleged that certain individuals were misusing the organisation’s name to extort money and engage in illegal activities.
The outfit warned both Raju Nong and Yambem Victor to rectify their alleged activities within the period specified in its final warning, cautioning that further action could follow if they failed to comply.
The statement also urged individuals allegedly involved in unlawful activities in the organisation’s name to stop such practices and refrain from bringing disrepute to the outfit and the armed movement.
