Evening vernacular daily ‘Kangleipakki Meira’ today celebrated its 33rd Foundation Day at Manipur Press Club. Dr. Ng. Bijoy Singh, Chairman Manipur Pollution Control Board, W. Rajen Singh (MCS), Director IPR, Govt. of Manipur and K. Momoranjan Singh, Addl. Chief Engineer, CADA, Govt. of Manipur grace the occasion as Chief Guest, President and Guest of honours respectively.
Speaking on the occasion Chief Editor of the daily W Shyamjai stressed on the roles of journalist and the newspaper distributors to the running of the newspapers.
As a part of the observance Reporter of Hueiyen Lanopao daily Asem Bebicha was awarded the best female journalist award while Th. Premchand, reporter of Poknapham daily was conferred the best male journalist award of the year. For the electronic media, Micheal of ISTV News programme was conferred the best journalist award.
