Kakching Forest Range seized bird catching nets

Kakching Forest Range of Kakching District celebrated 66th wildlife week. As a part of the celebration Kakching Range staff conducted a search operation at the wetland area of the Kakching Maning Tejpur during the operation a team of Kakching Range staffs recovered three birds and sized traps of catching nets. During the search operation Kakching Forest Range officer expressed that several wildlife organisations based in Manipur observed wildlife week and it is very unfortunate that at the Kakching Maning Tejpur trying to catch bird by using traps.
He further expressed that the cautioned bird catchers that catching endangered birds is punishable under Wildlife Protection Act with a jail term of 3 years or a fine Rs 25,000.
He also appealed to the poachers to abide by the animal law and stop killing animals.
