Cry for justice for the MBBS student, Sanaton Athokpam , who was found hung to death in a mysterious situation inside his hostel room today fill the air at Lamlong Keithel, Khurai in Imphal East today afternoon.
Late Sanaton, an MBBS student of RIMS ensuing 5th Semester was found hung o death in a suspicious manner inside hostel room on March 15. Suspecting foul to the death, locals of Khurai Thoidingjam leikai, where the students hailed, a joint action committee was formed and demanded a judicial probe into the matter by submitting a memorandum to the Chief Minister. Post mortem of the deceased student has been conducted at JNIMS under video coverage in the presence of a magistrate.
An organization called Justice for Sanaton Athokpam and vendor ladies of Lamlong keithel today staged a sit-in protest at Khurai Lamlong Keithel today demanding a proper investigation of the mysterious death and to lace the finding in the public domain.
The protestors demand punishment of those who involved in the cause of the death of the students and also to place the report of the post mortem in the public domain.
The protestors also condemn the silence of the RIMS authority in the matter and demanded to hand over the CCTV footage as well as all call records to the police and the family.
