Joychandra Konthoujam, chairman of the Justice Committee on Anglo-Manipur War-1891 Martyrs and Freedom Fighters of Kangleipak, today highlighted the importance of preserving Manipur’s historical legacy during the observance of Maharaj Kullachandra’s 92nd death anniversary at Malyaoipak Kangjeibung.
Speaking at the programme, Konthoujam emphasised the need to recognise and honour the sacrifices of Manipuri freedom fighters, including Maharaj Kullachandra, Jubaraj Tikendrajit, and Thangal General, who fought against British colonial forces during the Anglo-Manipur War of 1891.
