JSCC sets to observe Patriot’s Day

Imphal, August 5: Joint Students’ Co-ordinating Committee, a conglomerate of major students’ Union including All Manipur Students’ Union (AMSU), Manipuri Students’ Federation (MSF), Kangleipak Students’ Association (KSA) and Democratic Students Alliances of Manipur (DESAM) is all sets to observe the Patriots’ Day of Manipur which falls on August 13. In a press conference held today at the office of the KSA at Tiddim Road, spokesperson of the co-ordinating Committee Thangjam Premananda said that the Joint students’ body will be observing the Day in all Schools, Colleges and University of the state. As a part of the observance, the students’ body will also plants tree saplings at different places besides conducting social service camp at various places, he added.Premananda further said that by celebrating the Patriots’ Day, the students’ body will try to spread awareness about the need for unity. He said they will spread awareness on how the erstwhile kingdom got defeated in the hand of the British Empire.The Joint Students’ Body further appealed the people of the state not to call general strike or bandh or any form of protest which might disturb the observance of the Patriots’ Day.
