Joint students’ bodies lock Administrative Block of Jiribam Higher Secondary School

Jiribam, October 14:
Four student organisations in Jiribam district jointly locked the administrative block and the principal’s room of Jiribam Higher Secondary School, demanding an immediate stay on the transfer of the school’s computer science teacher or the appointment of a replacement.

Speaking to media persons, Meinam Rohit Singh, General Secretary of the AMSU District Committee, Jiribam, said that the four student organisations – AMSU, MSF, DESAM and KSA – staged the agitation at the school to protest against the transfer of the only computer science teacher without any replacement arrangement.

He expressed concern over the impact of the transfer on students’ education, particularly as the school had only one teacher to teach computer science.

Rohit Singh urged the concerned department to either revoke or stay the transfer order or appoint a replacement teacher at the earliest to ensure that students’ academic activities are not affected.

He further warned that the agitation would continue if the department failed to address their demands.
