JNIMS Relief Committee urges public not to obstruct medical services during agitation

The Relief Committee of Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS) has appealed to the public not to obstruct the movement of medical personnel, media workers, and vehicles transporting injured persons to hospitals amid the ongoing agitation against recent acts of violence targeting the Meitei community.
In a statement, the committee urged citizens to ensure that essential emergency services are allowed to function without disruption, stressing that any obstruction could adversely affect the timely treatment of the injured.
Speaking to media persons, Chairman of the Relief Committee, Bon Khurai, stated that given the prevailing situation, it is crucial to facilitate unhindered rescue operations and medical care. He appealed to the public to act responsibly and avoid causing additional difficulties to those already facing hardship due to the crisis.
The committee also requested that food vendors operating within the JNIMS hospital premises not be disturbed. It pointed out that patient attendants and caregivers staying at the hospital largely depend on these vendors for food and other basic necessities, and any disruption could create serious inconvenience.
