Nurses of JNIMS went for black badge from Tuesday and threatened to initiate non cooperative movement if the concerned government authority meets their various demands.
Speaking to media in a press meet held today at the JNIMS, Psychiatry ward, General Secretary, Nurses Association, Trained Nurses Association of India (TNAI), JNIMS Unit Porompat, Imphal, S Rama Meitei Chanu said that a memorandum with various demands was submitted to the Chief Minister on Tuesday. The demands include providing the pay scale and allowance and other institutional allowances same as the nursing personnel of RIMS, to adopt the pension scheme of RIMS for the nursing personnel of JNIMS, to regularise the 48 staff nurse who were appointed in contract, etc.
Rama further said that within five days counting from yesterday if the concerned government authority fails to meet the demands the association is all set to initiate further non cooperative agitation. She said that the nurses went black badge since yesterday and provide services only to in-patient only.
