Jiribam District Police seized huge consignment of Contraband cough syrup & Ganja

Jiribam, July 6:

The Jiribam District Police seized a huge consignment of Contraband cough syrup and Ganja at Leingangpokpi, Jiribam yesterday. 
As per police report one Tata Truck bearing registration No. AS01KC 7351 driven by one Alauddin  Ahamed (25) s/o Garib Ali of Kamrup Assam which was coming from Assam towards Imphal was checked by Narcotic Cell, Jiribam near  Leingangpokpi and recovered 20 paper carton boxes containing altogether 1996 numbers of 100 ml. Codeine cough syrup concealing in the said vehicle and these have been seized from the possession of the said driver who was arrested. A case has been registered at Jiribam PS for investigation.
Another consignment of Ganja laden at one Tata Truck Ashok Leyland bearing registration No. WB19 F 7803  driven by one Ashis Ankur (48) s/o (L) Sitai Ankur of village Chakdaha, PS Suri, District- Birbhum, West Bengal accompanied by one handyman namely Bikash Roy (34) s/o Jagdish Roy of village Barun, District- Birbhum, West Bengal coming from Imphal towards Jiribam was checked by Leingangpokpi OP personnel at Leingangpokpi, Jiribam and seized 77 ganja packets, altogether weighing 816 kgs. which was found concealed inside the said vehicle from the possession of the driver and both of them have been arrested.   A case has been registered at Jiribam PS for investigation.
It was one of the great achievements of the Jiribam District Police.
