President of the JD(U) Manipur state Unite, M Tombi today termed the BJP as anti Kuki political party.
“During Naga-Kuki clashed in between 1992 -94 over 2000 Kuki people including women and children were killed, many houses were burnt and over 1.2 lakhs Kuki people were displaced and till today the central government led by the BJP has not taken up any programme to rehabilitate the Kuki people neither it has taken up any initiative to award compensations to the victims”, M, Tombi said.
He said that there is no doubt in saying that BJP is an anti Kuki as it has completely ignored the Kuki people and as the party has never taken up any long term policy for the welfare of Kuki people.
Speaking to group of media persons at its office, M. Tombi further said that the BJP government is more considerate for the NSCN-IM.
“ We welcome the peace initiative by the Indian government with the NSCN-IM, but we expect similar treatment to the other community too”, Tombi said.
He further welcome the statement of the Nagaland Governor, who had announced to induct 4000 cadres of the militant group to state force and the Indian Army but question on what have they done for the Kuki Militant group KNO and the UPF who has been ensuing in suspension of operation with the government since 1997.
“The government has not charted out any long term policy for the Kuki militants but rather concentrated to the issue of the NSCN-IM which showed that the BJP is an anti-Kuki political party”, Tombi claims.
The JD(U) state unit president also said that no MLAs or MPs or no members of any political party had ever objected to the recently passed three government Bills during the series of meeting attended by all MPs, MLAs, Ministers and representatives of Political party. He expressed suspicion of some pressures or instigation from some external force to the present turmoil. He also condemn the statement of MP Thangso Baite appeared at a newspaper regarding his idea of separating the state into two Union territories.
“If what Mr. Baite had said in the media is true it is strongly condemnable and he need to clarify over the matter.
