JD (U) demands judicial enquiry

Under the protection of AFSPA, security forces in the state are oppressing the civilians, said M Tombi Singh, President of Janata Dal (United), Manipur state unit. Citing the Kadangband incident, where 2 people were killed by security forces as one such example of security personnel’s committing crimes, the President told media persons in a press conference held at its Babupara office that due to the imposition of the Act (AFSPA) security forces are committing “heinous crimes” and the civilians are suffering from their atrocities. He also demanded to constitute a special time bound judicial enquiry into the Kadangband incident. JD (U) demanded to repeal the Act in order to maintain peace and to protect the lives of common people. Condemning the Kadangband incident, the President demanded for special judicial enquiry with time bound.
