Janata Dal United (JDU), Manipur State today attack Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) urging them to fulfil the promises that they made during the previous Lok Sabha Election.
Addressing a press meet at the JDU office, M. Tombi Singh, President, JDU, Manipur State, National Council Member, Delhi, said that the BJP Manipur party had earlier promised to remove AFSPA from Manipur when BJP comes into power in the central government. Tombi added that the central government is now ruled by the NDA government led by BJP however the plea to remove AFSPA from Manipur had been rejected by the India Parliament. It was mentioned on the previous Lok Sabha Election Manifesto that BJP will remove AFSPA and save Sharmila’s live, however, Tombi said it is shameful that BJP is not able to keep their promises.
Tombi further said that there was some issues regarding the ADC election held in May, 2013, he demanded the concerned government to produce a white paper on the matter. He also said that the frequent arrivals of Union Ministers at the State is good however their purpose of visiting the state should not be of any political mileage but for the development of State.
Lian Gangte, General Secretary, JDU Manipur condemned 8th Assam Riffles for allegedly stripping a cadre of ZUF at Noney. He said that the cadre would have got punished according to law if he was convicted but stripping him in broad day light is an insult of human rights.
