Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam, who is also in charge of Home department, inaugurated 4 police stations in Thoubal district and one at Chandel district today. The five police stations inaugurated today are Heirok Police station, Nongpok Sekmai Police Station, Yairipok Police Station and Andro Police Station in Thoubal district and Pallel Police station in Chandel district. Except for the Yairipok Police station all the four police stations were constructed under the special plan assistance with an estimated cost of around 3.2 crores. Yairipok Police station was constructed under the Annual plan assistant of the state government with estimated cost o rupees 2.15 crore.
Education Minister M Okendro, MLA Bira, MLA Korungthang, MLA Surchandra, Parliamentary Secretary Meghachandra and DGP, Sahid Ahmad were also present as dignitaries during the inaugural function.
