JCILPS Students’ Wing stands against deployment of security force in school

While appreciating the state education Minister statement to re-open the school from July 16, Joint Students’ Coordination Committee – the student wing of JCILPS today strongly condemn the deployment of security forces in all the school. In a press meet held today at the office premises of MSF, the student leaders the statement of the education Minister is not in accordance with understanding reached between the representatives of the statement wing and the representatives of the government machinery.
Speaking to the media persons, Convenor of the Joint Students Co-ordination Committee (JSCC) said that the education Minister invited them for talk regarding the opening of the schools and as the intention seem to be for the welfare of the student committee, a team the JSCC met the minister at his office Chamber. Director of Education -U and Secretary (education) were also present along with the Minister during the meeting. The leaders said that the they appreciated the move of the government to re-open the schools, however, they never expected that the Education Minister will make statement to media in contrast to what had been agreed between the them and the government.
Reacting sharply to the media report publish today regarding the re-opening of the school from July 17, Convenor of the JACC, Jayentakuamr Khuman said that state government intention is convert the educational institute into a militarise zone and this cannot be accepted. He said the student wing of the JCILPS has never use the school students either as a shield or to prompt the agitation.
“The students came out voluntarily understanding the need for their participation, and none among the student leaders had ever instigated them to join the protest”, Jayentakumar said.
He further said that the issue  of ILP is a long pending demand and it was the inaction from the side of the government that students and the people pour out their frustration in the form of agitation.
“Unless there is a peoples’ agitation, unless people are dead this government had never done anything to fullfil the demand of the people.
Another student leader, Moiranthem Laxman, President KSA, while speaking during the press meet said the government is trying to malign the image of the student body blaming for utilisation of school students during the course of public agitation.
“Does the student don’t have the right to join the peoples’ agitation for the nation’s cause?” asked Moirangthem Laxman.
He further condemned some of the psuedo-intelectuals who had used some terminology like child soldier or human shield.
He further criticised the media for reporting only the story from the Education Minister without including any statement from the JSCC.
On the killing of class XI student, Robinhood, the JSCC demands immediate punishment of the security force involved in the killing and also those involved to the torturing of various other students.
