JCILPS pull up male vendors selling goods at Women Market

Women Wing of the Joint Committee on Inner Line Permit System (JCILPS) today pulled up around 10 male vendors who were selling goods at Ima Market Khwairamband Keithel – which is known for its peculiarity of being the one and only women’s market in the world.
What is more interesting is that all those male vendors are non-local among which one person from Bihar state got Adhaar Card from Manipur. Convenor of the women wing JCILPS while talking to media persons said that the male vendors were provided license by traffic police and some among them got the license from other female license holder.
Memcha leima, Convenor, of the JCILPS while questioning the intention of the government authority on how these non-local that too ‘male’ were allowed to mix up  in the women market said that from today no male will be allow to spoil the image of the Ima market.
She appealed the government to take some interest for implementation of the ILPS in the state and said that after the ILPS have been introduced the non-local can be arrange at some appropriate place to sell their goods or do some other business for their livelihood.
