JCILPS not ready to hold talk with government

Convenor of JCILPS Kh Ratan today said that there is no change to the stand of the JCILPS regarding its demand for implementation of the ILP system in the state. Reacting to media reports in which the government has said that they had invited the JCILPS for talks, Ratan said that they did not receive any invitation from the government and the JCILPS will never talk with the government even if any such invitation is received. Talking to Imphal Times he said the Chief Minister and the Deputy Chief Minister is trying to malign the spirit of the peoples’ movement by spreading rumours about JCILPS members meeting the government representatives. Ratan further added that JCILPS demands a legislation to safeguard the indigenous people of the state and unless the government calls an assembly sitting and pass a bill there will be no turning back to the ongoing agitation.
