JCILP continues protest; stages rally at Sekmai

Imphal, Aug 4: Various club members, meira paibis and students of the state today continue the protest for implementation of the Inner Line Permit System initiated under the aegis of the Joint Committee on Inner Line Permit System (JCILP).At Sekmai over 500 people from all sections of people stage a protest rally at Sekmai Bazaar. Various placards decrying the excess police action to the students during the protest for introduction of ILP were displayed.On the other hand sit-in-protest were staged at various places including Keinou Thongkha in Bishnupur district, Konung Mamang and Kongba Uchekon in Imphal East, Tangjeng in Thoubal district and Kakwa Pechu Lampak, Haobam Marak Irom Leikai, Kwakeithel Mayai Koibi and Naoriya Pakhang Lakpa area. Placards demanding ILP were put up in the protest.
