Imphal August 5: Urging to arrest the accused of the brutal killing Lourembam Ongbi Ranjita who was allegedly raped and killed by unknown persons at her paddy field, JAC formed in connection with the incident submit a memorandum to the Chief Minister of the state.A large number of people comprising of family, relatives and JAC members came in different vehicles and assembled at Moirangkhom area this afternoon. They fall in lines soon after they assembled at Moirangkhom area and started marching towards Chief Minister’s Bungalow to submit the memorandum. However, they have been stopped by police near Old Secretariat area.Later, four members of the JAC were allowed to enter the Chief Minister Bungalow to submit the memorandum.Demands of the JAC consist of immediate arrest of the accused, giving compensation to the family, and non acceptance of the dead body until and unless the accused is arrested.It may be mentioned here that Lourembam Ongbi Ranjita Dev, w/o Lourembam Loken of Khoirom Mathak Leikai was found dead at her paddy field located at Ningel Kha-Khong Maril Mana Loukol.
