JAC blames IFCD for canal breach

Lamka, Aug.25: Joint Action Committee of Khuga Dam blames the department authority for the breach of the canal on August 22. In a press statement the JAC said that this is the third time that the portion of the canal has been breach. It said the misappropriation of fund and irregularities in the construction of the canals is the root of all those happening. Even though the IFCD has claimed to have completed the construction of both the canals canal lining is seen left unattended. It questions on where the huge amount of fund for the construction has been utilised.It further said that the local people of the town or the villagers along the canal left and right have been lucky cared by the good lord, that in spite of the numerous breaches of the canal and over flow of the water, they remain safe.
