IED blasts at Mantripukhri injured one

A person sustained serious injury after an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) planted by suspected militants blasted at Nepali Mandir (temple) at Mantripukhri under Heingang Police station at around 45 minutes past midnight today (12.45 am). The temple was crowded with devotees coming to offer prayers on occasion of Janmasthami, but only the pujari of the temple was reportedly injured by the impact of the blast. A 407 truck parked near the temple was partially damaged by the impact of the blast but the driver of the 407 truck, identified as Rajendra Prasad (45) of Thakurbari Basti, Mantripukhri, who was reported to have been sleeping inside the driver’s cabin escaped unhurt.The injured person has been identified as Punal Sahu (15), son of Sunil Sahu  of Bihar,  presently residing at Thakurbari Basti, Mantripukhri. He served as the pujari of the Nepali Mandir since the last couple of months.  He was immediately rushed to Raj Polyclinic at North AOC and is undergoing treatment at the time of filing this report.This is the second blast occurred at Mantripukhri area during the last 48 hours. At around 8.30 pm of day before yesterday unknown miscreants hurled a hand grenade at the show room of Manipur Diesel. The grenade explosion did failed to cause any human casualty but portion of the Shutter of the show room was hit by the splinters of the blast.
