Imphal, Aug. 4: Manipur Pineapple Queen Contest is going to be an extravaganza event of the 7th State Level Manipur Pineapple Festival scheduled to be held at Bishnupur District Manipur.The Pineapple Queen Contest will be held on August 23 at Sendra in Bishnupur district . A press statement of the festival committee said that screening cum rehearsal of the queen contest will be held at Manipur Press Club, Majorkhul on August 9 from 10 am. The contest is open to all eligible girls of Manipur. Aspiring contestants between the age of 18 – 30 years may report at the screening venue along with 4×6 recent photographs, I-D Card for proof of identity and age and a fee of Rs 500, the statement added. A cash prize of rupees 50,000/- will be awarded to the Beauty Queen while rupees 40,000/- will be awarded to the runners-up. A sum of rupees 30,000/-will also be awarded to the 2nd runners –up besides rupees 5,000/- each for five subtitles.
