LAMKA, July 23: The Chura-Behiang Tiddim Road, a state highway is becoming a dismal means of connectivity and a curse for Singhat Sub-division of Churachandpur district headquarters, as well as those of adjacent villages have been enduring severe hardships on a daily basis because of poor connectivity with the district headquarters of Churachandpur. When investigated by media persons, the state highway Tiddim Road that connected through Indo-Myanmar village of Behiang and its nearby villages with the outside world lies in a dilapidated condition and is accessible only through a dumpy road, Behiang village is located about 60 kilometres from Lamka (Churachandpur) town. On the other hand, under 60-Singhat Assembly Constituency, Sangaikot TD Block is also facing a lot severe hardships on a daily basis, because of poor road connectivity with Lamka town, Sangaikot TD Block under 60-Singngat Assembly Constituency is located about 22 Kilometres from Churachandpur district headquarter, the only road that connect Sugnu town, under Chandel district. Under Singhat Sub-sivision it was confided that some government institutions like schools, heath care centres and an office of the SDO exist only in name sake, which for many employees and teachers seldom report for duty is under the pretext of bad road communication along Chura-Behiang state highway. Contrary to government stipulation that the Lungthul Government High School and Singhat government high schools have started providing accommodation to students upto Class X, yet barring the Headmaster and few other non-teaching staffs, there is no teacher to teach science, hindi, and mathematics subjects while computer class remains a distant dream for the students. On the other hand, villagers expressed strong resentment that there is no SDO office in the Sub-divisional headquarter which have been hampering development in the areas.
