An initiative of Inspector General Assam Rifles (South), National Integration Tour to Delhi and Agra was flagged off on October 4 from Manipur. The tour organized by 2 Assam Rifles of 9 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South), with an aim to provide exposure of cultural heritage, traditions and infrastructural development of the country to the children of Manipur who reached New Delhi on October 8. The tour kicked off on the same day with the visit of 24 students of Manipur to Red Fort where they were briefed about the glorious history of Mughal dynasty by the staff of the fort. Thereafter utilizing the world-class HOHO bus service, students were taken to Akshardham Temple, where they witnessed the exquisite light and sound show.
On 09 Oct, the students received a rare honor to visit the Rashtrapati Bhawan.  The excitement and inquisitiveness were quite evident in the eyes of students, while witnessing the residence of Head of the State and also the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces.
Continuing with their journey, the students visited India Gate, Lotus Temple and ISKCON Temple on their second day of stay in New Delhi. So far the students participating in the NIT have found the tour inspiring, motivational and highly educative. In the forthcoming days, the students will be visiting Agra and many other places in Delhi of historical interest.
