Imphal, July 13: Assistant Secretary of National Security Council Secretariat (NSCS) Dr. Sivananda today arrived in Imphal via Imphal-Jiribam road. The Assistant secretary took stock of the present condition of the Imphal-Jiri road stretch during the visit and held talk with the authority of the BRO on the way.A highly placed source said that Dr. Sivananda arrived at Silchar from Kolkatta by Jet Airline flight 9W2875 and later reached Jiribam by road. Later, he proceeded for Imphal via Jiribam Imphal road.The source added that on his way to Imphal the assistant director met the authority of the BRO, Railway, Assam Riffles, CRPF and Manipur Police and discussed about the security threats and preparedness as well as progress of the task force under BRO since 2011 at Jiribam. He also discussed about the establishment of ex-servicemen organization for development of road/ rail network; progress of the rail –network on the jiribam –Tupul-Imphal alignment and also about the security coverage for construction of road rail network.The source further added that Dr. Sivananda will also hold interaction season with Assam Riflles, BRO, CRPF and Manipur Police at Imphal tomorrow.
