Meitei Youth Front South-East Asia (MYFSEA) has called counter economic blockade from today midnight against the ongoing indefinite economic blockade by All Tribal Students’ Union Manipur (ATSUM) at both the National Highways of Manipur. In a press statement the front said that the demands of the ATSUM are in support of the foreigners and demands for protection and safeguarding of the foreigners will never be tolerated. The statement further added, the counter economic blockade is called under the theme to live together and to drive out foreigners. The front however said that it will support at some of the demands in view of the rights of the tribal indigenous people however will oppose the demands for reservations and handing over of land records. The statement further said that the indigenous hill people of the state has now been dominated by foreigners who pose themselves as the people of the state and by 2025 it is fear the foreigner population might override the original tribal population. The front also said that the people of the state had tolerated over 100 days bandh along the highways and the front is prepared to face all sort of consequences, the front threatens.
