Three people, including a JCILPS convenor, Jiribam branch as well as Ex AMSU President, Jiribam District committee drowned after the car they were traveling in fell into a pond at Kalingar, Jiribam on last night.
The victims have been identified as Yurembam Sanjiv Singh, (30), s/o Y. Romeo Singh of Lamtaikhunou, Jakuradhor at present residing at Kalinagar Part-3 ; Thongatabam Saratchandra Sharma @ Naoba (48), s/o Th. Joygopal Sharma of Kalinagar Part-1 and Loutongbam Anil Singh (45), s/o (L) L. Irabot Singh of Kalinagar Part-3.
As per a report, the vehicle in which three of them travelling fell into a pond at the late-night yesterday. People who were going on an early morning walk have seen the vehicle in the pond after the vehicle had been pulled out from the pond, dead bodies of three persons were recovered from the vehicle, and inquest proceedings have been completed.
Later, the bodies have been sent for post-mortem to the Jiribam Hospital.
All three were cremated after a post mortem at a government hospital.
