More than 35 crore 12 lakh Vaccine Doses have been administered so far under the Nationwide Vaccination Drive. Health Ministry said, over 63 lakh 87 thousand doses were administered yesterday. The recovery rate in the country has gone upto 97.09 per cent. Over 52 thousand patients recovered during the last 24 hours.
The condition in the state of Manipur however is not satisfactory with just over 7 lakhs vaccine doses administered till yesterday.
UK Based Manipuri Doctor, Elangbam Bishwajit had stated that Vaccines are safe and it Stop Cases, If They’re Given. On the detection of delta variants in the state of Manipur, Dr. Biswajit said that the Delta variant poses a huge threat—but not to vaccinated people.
“Manipur full vaccination rate is only 2% and for 1 dose is 20% “, he said.
Bishwajit also worried about the slow progress in vaccination in the state of Manipur.
“Lots of Unvaccinated people in Manipur are being hospitalized and killed by Covid, and we continue to witnessed the serious Delta-fueled outbreaks. Please help control the current pandemic that has claimed several hundred lives, by getting vaccinated and don’t let conspiracy theorist and propaganda stop you and your family”, Dr. Bishwajit appealed.
Imphal Times yesterday reported that a total of 19,039 people were tested positive with Covid-19 when tested a total of 1,92,237 persons during June month. This means around 9.9% has been tested positive with the Covid-19 if calculated from the total number of people tested during June Month. Total death occurred during the month of June is also recorded as 343 as per government report.
The report though is alarming, government had started taking intense drive to curb the virus since June last week. The number of positive cases somehow reduced during the last month and government has taken up intensive measures to hike up the vaccination programme in the last week of June. Vaccination , as of now is the only left over means to protect the people and to resume neo normalcy.
During the last 5 days the vaccination drive has also been spike up reaching the number to around 15000 per day on an average. The number however need to be increased in view of the population of the state which around 30 lakhs (28,55,794 as per 2011 census report). As on July 2 (yesterday) the total number of people who got complete dose (2nd dose) was 85275 only and the number of people who got the first dose was 6,20,414. Total doses administered as on July 2 was 7,05693.
A total of just around 26% doses has been administered and among this just around 2.4% of the total population had got the complete dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.
Authority of the State Health department had stated during a local TV show that vaccination drive to prevent covid-19, if could not be completed within short time and if it takes 2 years then it will not be able to serve its purposes.
AIR report said that till now, over 2 crore 96 lakh people have recovered from Covid-19. Daily recoveries continue to outnumber the Daily New Cases for the 52nd consecutive day. Health Ministry said, 43 thousand 71 new cases were reported in last 24 hours. India’s Active Caseload has declined to 4 lakh 85 thousand 350. Active cases constitute 1.59 per cent of total cases.
Weekly Positivity Rate remains below 5 per cent and it is currently at 2.44 per cent. Daily positivity rate is at 2.34 per cent and it is less than 5 per cent for 27 consecutive days. 955 deaths were reported in the last 24 hours. With this the death toll due to the pandemic has reached 4 lakh 2 thousand five.
The testing capacity has been substantially ramped up and over 41 crore 82 lakh tests have been conducted. Yesterday, over 18 lakh tests were conducted.
