Imphal, June 30:

MLA Khumukcham Joykishan today appealed to his fellow MLA colleagues to join hands in providing free foods to inmates who are presently staying at various Covid Care Center.
Appreciating the supply of free foods to inmates who are staying at CCC by Milan Enterprises, Joykishan said that if just 10 of the MLAs or Ministers join and work together it will be more than enough to serve food to all those inmates who are presently staying at Covid Care Center.
“When Milan Enterprises can serve breakfast and lunch for such a long period of time to the Covid-19 positive inmates staying at the quarantine centers why couldn’t we the MLAs do the same”, Joykishan said while handing over 10 bags of Manipuri indigenous rice to Milan Enterprises.
“We should feel shame of what these people are doing as these kinds of service should be done by people like us who have been elected as their representatives”, Joykishan said.
He further assured that from today he himself will take all the responsibility of providing breakfast, lunch, and dinner for the Covid-19 positive inmates who are staying at the Covid Care Center being opened at RD Wing Lamphel.
“I assure you that I will make no difference whether those staying at the center is from my constituency or not, anybody who needs food will get food from me”, Joykishan said and added that he has given his contact number to the RD Wing authority and anybody staying at the center can contact him.
Almost 15 days have been completed where Milan Enterprises and its supporters from the Bazar Community of Imphal have been providing breakfast and lunch to the inmates of the quarantine centers open by the government.
MLA Joykishan, also clarified that people should not be mislead in connection with the local area development fund. Due to the pandemic, government is doing everything it could and it is not about spending the local area development fund when he talks about serving food to those staying at the CCC.
