The Union government is doing all it can to fight the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic. Almost every state chocked out plan and had increased the vaccination double times since the introduction of the revised vaccination drive, which started on June 21.
People of the state are ready, CSOs are assuring all assistant to the government in the fight against the Pandemic at their own capacity, and still, then State Health department of the Manipur Government is acting dull for the increase of the vaccination drive, which the government of India believes is the only alternative to protect the people of the country.
At a time, when the State Health Department authority cannot spike the vaccination drive even after the enforcement of the new guideline for vaccination drive, Civil bodies of the state keep on appealing the people to follow the guidelines of the government as well as to jab the Covid vaccine as per the announcement of the government.
One wonder why the state health department is not paying serious intention to the vaccination drive when neighbouring state Tripura gives it as the main priority. The state of Manipur, with an almost similar population, had completed giving vaccines to nearly 24 lakhs people on June 21 while the state of Manipur could administer only around 6 lakhs as per record on June 21.
Poor turnout of the people to get vaccination has always been blamed by the state government when in reality the vaccination center planned and held remain on an average of 100 centers only. While Tripura could hold vaccination at 335 vaccination centers (government) and when Nagaland could increase the vaccination center to 113, why the state government manages to hold at only 99 vaccination canters. Why there has been less vaccination plan on Sunday? And the answer for the failure of the state government to increase the vaccination drive as per the revised guideline of the center lies here. There is no seriousness in the vaccination drive being carried out in the state. Nothing new policy had been put on public domain and the authority have seriously violated the directives of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare by not letting the people the total number of vaccine available in the state.
Civil organization like the KANGLAMEI (Kangleipak Lamjing Apunba Meira Paibi Lup, has even appealed the people to take self-protection to prevent the virus from attacking is, The president of the Kanglamei, Leirik Leima expressed apprehension to the spread of the virus and appealed all the people to stay intake. She also appealed to give cooperation to the government programme of mass testing as well as the mass vaccination. The message of the leader of a civil society indicated the apprehension among the people even as she had no scientific knowledge of the virus that has been attacking us.
Now, what are those people in other words paid professional government employees, who know the virus doing now? Much publicity has been heard, but the reality is known by everyone.
Vaccination is going in the much slow and steady manners, corruption is at its height in the distribution of essential items provided by the Union government at free of cost and instead of listening to the public woes, top authority is keeping silent to issues which matters with the life of the people.
