100 people vaccinated at the launch of Covid -19 vaccination at RIMS

As part of pan India rollout of COVID-19 vaccination drive, Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal today launched the COVID-19 Vaccination Programme at the College of Nursing, RIMS, Imphal. Altogether 100 people were vaccinated during the launching of the vaccination programme.
Speaking as the Chief Guest, N. Praveen Singh, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Imphal West, said that to clear the doubts’ amongst the people regarding the vaccine, the Director of RIMS himself has volunteered to vaccinate during the programme today. The vaccine is being brought out by experts with adequate research work and is introduced in the country only after getting a clearance from the National Regulator based on its safety and efficacy. He urged the public not to hesitate in getting the vaccination.
Congratulating the entire team of RIMS, Imphal, he expressed that the efforts made by the staffs of RIMS in making the vaccination programme a successful venture is laudable. He sought the support and cooperation from the public to take part in the programme with courage to wipe out the virus from the global map.
After getting the vaccination, Prof. A. Shanta Singh, Director, RIMS, Imphal expressed gratefulness for giving the opportunity to organize the launch of COVID-19 Vaccination Programme at the institute. He also said that he volunteered for the vaccination to demonstrate that there are no side effects of the vaccine. Expressing happiness for the people of the state, he added that it would be good if more people come out to get a vaccination to break the chain of the pandemic.
The function was attended by Y. Nelson, ADC/ADM, Imphal West, Pooja Elangbam, SDO Lamphel, Prof. H. Priyosakhi Devi, Medical Superintendent, RIMS Hospital, Imphal, Dr. H. Kula Singh, Chief Medical Officer, Imphal West, Dr. Th. Shantajit Singh, District Immunization Officer, Imphal West as Guests of Honour. All the Head of Departments, Faculty members, Officials and Staffs of Regional Institute of Medical Sciences, Imphal also attended the launching function.
