An unidentified armed person attacked the Member of ADC, Sadar Hills today morning at his present residence at Langol Game Village-A/IV Zone 3 under PS Lamphel, Imphal West. The ADC member namely S Kipgen (35), son of Namthang Kipgen of Bongbal Khullen, Saikul sub division under Senapati police station suffered bullet injury at his right shoulder. Speaking to media, Kipgen said that the unknown assailant came to his residence at around 10.00 am and demanded money to fuel his vehicle. Kipgen said that he had never met this person before but seemed to be a Kuki. While Kipgen had gone to drop him to the gate the assailant shot him with a 9MM pistol in which he sustained bullet injury on his right shoulder. Further narrating the incident Kipgen said that he rushed inside the house on hearing the gunshot. The miscreant fired two more rounds hitting his black Bolero bearing reg. no 03-P 2359 after which he fled. Kipgen is now undergoing medical treatment at RIMS, Lamphel. Ak Jhaljit, SP, Imphal West Police came and inspected the place where the incident took place. Condemning the incident the locals staged a sit-in-protest in front of the residence of S. Kipgen.
