Imphal, Aug 30:

The Zomi Students’ Federation General Headquarters  General secretary Justine Simte  has taken strong cognizance of the note issued by ATSUM, dated 26th August 2020, wherein, it stated that the state Government has failed miserably to fulfill the charter of demands submitted, although an assurance for implementation of the demands was given by the Chief Minister on 13th August2019. It is Pertinent to note that, the matter is still farfetched even after a year gone by since the agreement reached. The Federation questions the state Government’s indifferent attitude and delay tactics in addressing the genuine demands of ATSUM. It doubted the Sincerity of the Government and termed the assurance as mere Up service to fool the tribal. It is disheartening that, the state Government is least bothered about the predicament faced by the hills, otherwise their genuine demands could have been put in reality immediately. In the education sector, 2006 contract basis teachers were assured to regularize their service within two months period after completion of document verification. However ten (10) months have passed by since the assurance made with no fruitful result. These teachers have been serving diligently with great hope that, their service would be regularized any day soon. The Government is also well aware that due to shortage of teachers, quality education could not be maintained in the hills.ZSF appeals State Government to fulfill the demands of the tribal students  immediately.
