“Everyone of us had seen patients being carried by villagers in stretchers and walking long distances to get medical treatment and the government seems no care about people of the interior district”, the student leaders said.
In connection with the Education sector, the three tribal student bodies expressed dissatisfaction with the government over failure to convert into action the assurances given to them. Seiboi Haoikip said that recruitment for vacant teachers post has not been done, regularization of the contract teachers assured during the meeting remain as a mere assurance and the appointment of 32 posts by the Tribal affairs department as well as appointment of MIL teachers have not been done so far.
“We will not remain quiet if the demands are not fulfilled by the government before August 31”, Seiboi Haokip said.
