Chief Minister launches School Fagathansi Mission

Chief Minister N. Biren Singh today launched the State Government’s ambitious School Fagathansi Mission at the Moirangpurel High School, Andro Assembly Constituency, Imphal East.
The Chief Minister also inaugurated the newly constructed school buildings equipped with latest infrastructures of the school at a function organised by the State Education (S) Department. Forest and Environment Minister Thounaojam Shyamkumar and Education Minister Dr. Thokchom Radheshyam, were also present on the occasion.
Addressing the gathering, CM N. Biren Singh said that the School Fagathansi Mission is an initiative to upgrade the condition of Government schools for overall development in shaping the future pillars of the society. He said that the mission is implemented in one school each in all the 60 assembly constituencies of the State and the mission will be launched at five schools namely Moirangpurel High School, Heingang High School, Singjamei Chingamakha High School, Praja High School, Lamsang and SK Ideal High School, Ngairangbam.
CM further said that it is the responsibility of the Government to provide good schools with highly qualified teachers along with adequate infrastructure and facilities to its citizens. He said pre-nursery facility is also given under the mission which was unavailable earlier in Government schools.
He further lauded the Education Minister Dr. Thokchom Radheshyam and his team for swiftly and successfully implementing the mission. He also lauded the Forest and Environment Minister, who is also the local MLA of Andro AC for his sincere dedication towards reviving the Government schools in his constituency. Terming both the Ministers as dynamic, he hoped that the sincerity and dedication by the leaders and support of the public will surely lead to the progress of the State.
Forest Minister Th. Shyamkumar said the long cherished dream of the people of the locality have been cherished today with the launch of the School Fagathansi Mission at the Moirangpurel High School which will provide latest teaching techniques to the young students.
Education Radheshyam said that under the mission, teachers and all latest required infrastructures are being provided to the students. He credited Chief Minister for supporting the entire team of Education Department which allowed for rapid action in the education sector. He said that a grievance cell will be opened for the mission where people can send their suggestions and grievances. As part of the function two students were distributed school uniforms for free.
Secretary to the Chief Minister Ningthoujam Geoffery, Education (S) Commissioner T. Ranjit Singh, Education Director Th. Kirankumar, officials of the Education (S), top civil and police officials also attended the function.
